A BILL to amend and reenact section two, article one, chapter
twenty-five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, continuing the division of
corrections until the first day of July, two thousand two.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That section two, article one, chapter twenty-five of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
§25-1-2. Reestablishment of division; findings.
Pursuant to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of
this code, the division of corrections shall continue to exist
until the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred ninety-six
two thousand two, to allow for monitoring of compliance with
recommendations contained in the performance audit and to allow
for further review of the division by the joint committee on
government operations.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to continue the division
of corrections, pursuant to the West Virginia Sunset Law, until
July 1, 2002.
